Practice Areas

Ray Mangum represents clients in a variety of government investigations and commercial disputes, with a particular focus on matters involving complex data analytics and eDiscovery community issues. A former computer science major and software developer, Ray has successfully applied technology assisted review (TAR) processes, including predictive coding and other machine-learning techniques, in a wide range of matters. His experience also includes analyzing large data sets to develop statistically backed legal arguments. Ray actively supports the firm’s various eDiscovery initiatives, including the firm-wide eDiscovery and Data Analytics team, the firm’s involvement in both The Sedona Conference and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), and the firm’s role as outside counsel on eDiscovery issues for a number of corporate clients. He is a member of the Sedona Conference and regularly participates in the e-discovery community through various conferences and working groups. Prior to joining the firm, Ray served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stanley Marcus of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Prior to law school, Ray worked as a software developer and as an internal consultant in the application of statistical methods to improve business processes.
