Career
Renée was called to the Bar in England & Wales in October 2002 and the Saint Lucia Bar in November of that same year. She joined FOSTERS in 2003 as an Associate and became a Partner in 2014. She is a high-profile litigator and practices mainly commercial and corporate law specializing in high-net-worth liquidations, insurance, banking matters, commercial injunctions and pre-emptive remedies, with leading cases before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Privy Council.
Renée has extensive experience in large banking and finance transactions, including syndicated loans, advising leading commercial banks and in mergers and acquisitions, and has advised in acquisitions of large hotel developments and other businesses and projects. She has a passion for public law and has appeared as a litigator in several widely publicized public law matters in Saint Lucia. She also enjoys condominium law and trusts law and is well known for her wealth of knowledge and experience in these areas.
Renée is a former President of the Bar Association of Saint Lucia, the representative body of lawyers in Saint Lucia and former Chairperson of the Saint Lucia Legal Aid Authority and has been a member of several other Boards and Commissions in Saint Lucia such as the Public Service Commission and Committee of the Prerogative of Mercy. She is presently a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Saint Lucia Bar Association an appointment made by the Honorable Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and Member of the Council of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
Renée is also a member of the Board of Multilaw, an elite global network of law firms of which FOSTERS is a member.
She is also a member of OCCBA, International Bar Association, Commonwealth Lawyers Association and OECS Bar Association.
