Rhett is often appointed as coverage counsel advising on all aspects of relevant policy wordings including ISR on all issues including scope of cover, proximate cause, basis for settlement, sub-limits and deductibles
Rhett’s approach to matters focuses on establishing and maintaining strong relationships with insurers, insureds and brokers. He is adept at managing competing priorities and successfully working alongside clients in complex claims involving multiple stakeholders.
Rhett has been recognised in Best Lawyers for Insurance Law since 2016, and was named Lawyer of the Year for Insurance Law in the 2018 edition. In 2021 he was awarded a 5-Star Excellence Award for Insurance Law in the inaugural 5-Star Insurance Law Report. He has also been recognised as a Preeminent Professional Indemnity Lawyer from 2019 to 2024, and a Leading Public and Product Liability Lawyer from 2019 to 2022 in Queensland by Doyle's Guide. Rhett was also awarded Life Membership by AILA and is listed in the Chambers & Partners Australia Guide 2025.
