Career
Rishi Pursem is a Senior Counsel with over 30 years of practice, having advised on a number of litigation and arbitration proceedings relating to complex international transactions.
Rishi read law at Middlesex University and is a barrister of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, England. He started his career at the Attorney General’s Office and then acted as magistrate.
He was acting as Assistant Solicitor General at the Attorney General’s Office before joining private practice, and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2010. He is a seasoned advocate who appears regularly before the Supreme Court and the Privy Council.
Rishi has also lectured in company law and administrative law at the Council of Legal Education. He has been actively involved in the drafting of the Protected Cell Companies Act 1999, the Companies Act 2001 and the Financial Services Development Act 2001.
