Scott has been practicing data protection law for nearly 20 years and has established a market-leading privacy counseling and cyber practice. He leverages a unique combination of transaction and data expertise to mitigate risks and close deals. From M&A to strategic partnerships, Scott structures and negotiates complex transactions to achieve compliance and manage third-party data risks.

Scott is a recognized leader at the forefront of the field and is known for identifying possibilities and risks others may overlook. As a result, he is highly sought by the world’s largest, most technically advanced clients who demand marketing leading advice in this constantly evolving area of law

Scott helps clients develop sophisticated strategies that address complex global compliance and privacy challenges. He has robust experience in proactively managing data privacy and cybersecurity risks and effectively responds to issues in the US and around the world.

With a strong focus on business and a sophisticated understanding how companies can use data to further their goals, Scott’s guidance is demanded by clients for whom data is central to products and operations, including businesses in the media, manufacturing, technology, e-commerce, and services industries who are looking to leverage new and innovative technology such as artificial intelligence, block chain, machine learning, IoT, virtual reality and every other technological advantage.

In 2023, Scott led the way with two innovative initiatives for the privacy and cybersecurity practice. The first, "Don’t Cancel Kids," was launched as an interactive program in the Washington D.C. area, aimed at helping pre-teens and teenagers understand their digital footprint. This program educates young individuals on how to safeguard their online reputations and avoid jeopardizing their future social mobility or being “cancelled” due to common social media mistakes.

The second initiative involved the introduction of the Privacy and Cybersecurity practice's new multimedia series, The Data Chronicles. This series comprises videos and podcasts dedicated to current trends, developments, challenges, and solutions in the realms of data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity.
