Sean Finn of Canadian National Railway Company
Sean Finn joined CN in 1994 and was notably involved in the company’s privatisation in 1995. In 2008, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Legal Officer. A pillar of the Montréal business community, Finn was previously the managing partner of the tax department at Lavery, de Billy. He was also the mayor of the city of SaintLambert, Québec. In addition to overseeing the company’s legal functions, Finn is responsible for the company’s corporate governance practices as well as implementing its business code of conduct.
Sources are “struck by his business savvy” and highlight his contributions to both the GC community and the wider local business landscape. In May 2019, he was named co-chair of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business’ Supply Change initiative, a programme which aims to increase procurement opportunities for Aboriginal-owned businesses.
