Shishir has advised Indian and overseas clients on M&A, Private Equity and General Corporate matters for over eighteen years. He co-heads the firm’s FIG M&A practice.
His book on the SEBI’s takeover regulations (Shishir Vayttaden on SEBI’s Takeover Regulations) was published by Lexis Nexis Butterworths in 2010.
Notable Experience:
• Advised Reliance on its USD 6.5 Billion fund-raise from multiple Private Equity investors including KKR, GA, Silver Lake and GIC.
• Advised the J&J group on the USD 5 Billion demerger of its consumer health business in India.
• Advised the Jasti family on their USD 1.1 Billion sale of Suven Pharma to Advent International.
• Advised Blackstone on its acquisition of R-Systems in the first ever fixed price delisting attempt in India and also on its USD 500 Billion acquisition of the Indian Gemological Institute.
• Advised on all nationalised bank mergers undertaken in in the last ten years including Punjab National Bank on the amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India with PNB involving a consideration of USD 1.52 Billion and Union Bank of India on the amalgamation of Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank into UBI involving a consideration of USD 1.46 Billion.
• Advised on Fullerton on its USD 1 Billion sale of Fullerton India to Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group in 2021
