Simon has been ranked in the legal directories for many years and has a well-established commercial practice that includes both advisory and advocacy work.
Highly regarded for many years is his construction practice, in which he advises on all aspects of the process from procurement through the whole project life-cycle. He regularly acts in adjudications and arbitrations, as well as appearing in the TCC. He is a TECBAR and UK Adjudicators accredited adjudicator.
Simon frequently acts for and against professionals in professional negligence claims. He has also recently advised a public authority in a substantial dispute concerning the construction of a new school, and conducted a 5-day trial (remotely) of a dispute concerning the demolition of a listed building.
Simon is also an acknowledged authority on non-domestic rating law, and frequently appears in both the Magistrates’ Courts and the High Court in cases concerning rates and rates avoidance schemes.
He undertakes insolvency work covering both corporate and personal insolvency.
Simon is a keen advocate of ADR and regularly appears in mediations, expert determinations and early neutral evaluations, and also accepts appointments as a mediator.
He is licensed to accept instructions on a direct access basis.
