Practice Areas
Steven is a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group in Toronto. Focused primarily on contentious patent litigation, he has led some of Canada’s largest and most significant patent infringement actions in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications and oil & gas industries. He acts as co-lead of our firm’s oil and gas patent litigation practice, with a strong track record of successful litigation outcomes.
Over the course of the past three years Steven has been involved in several high-stakes trials in the Federal Court, and several high-stakes appeals at the Federal Court of Appeal, all in patent infringement and impeachment actions.

Personal
Steven has been an active teacher and mentor throughout his career. For years, Steven was an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School where he taught patent law. He is regularly invited to speak on current issues in patent law and has actively participated in student recruitment and student events, including the Fox IP Moot. Steven has helped lead firm initiatives supporting mental health awareness, including initiatives for “Bell Let’s Talk” and to mark World Mental Health Day.
