Work Highlights
Mr. Khan has successfully acted and is currently representing as the lead counsel in numerous international arbitrations seated in Singapore, London, Dhaka, and Paris. He has successfully represented French contractors in the ICC International Court of Arbitration, seated in Singapore. Suhan has also successfully represented one of Bangladesh’s largest conglomerates in several GAFTA arbitration matters in London. He is currently representing a Russian state-owned atomic energy corporation in international commercial arbitration, one of China’s largest state-owned energy corporations in international construction arbitration, and a Malaysian energy contractor in a construction dispute culminating in international arbitration in ICC International Court of Arbitration, Paris. Apart from his distinguished experience in international arbitrations, Suhan has participated in numerous domestic arbitrations and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.
Notably, Mr. Khan has been acting as the legal advisor for some of Bangladesh’s largest energy, construction, and infrastructure projects bearing national importance. He has spearheaded the US$ 470 million construction agreements and project financing documentation of Bangladesh’s first gold refinery project and US$ 200 million bitumen plant project, which is also Bangladesh’s first in the private sector. Currently, he is acting as the lead counsel for a landmark US$ 2.25 billion mega oil refinery and petrochemical complex project. Mr. Khan has been advising Bangladesh’s largest foreign investor engaged in oil & gas exploration under contracts with the Bangladesh government and has advised IOCs and MNCs in major projects and M&A transactions. He is also representing foreign state-owned enterprises, including the contractor constructing Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant in Roopur, 2.4GWe, valued US$ 12.65 billion.
Mr. Khan regularly represents clients before the arbitration bench, admiralty and company bench of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, High Court Division, and is frequently instructed by top-tier international law firms for cross-border contentious and non-contentious matters.

Mr. Khan acts as the legal advisor for multiple MNCs, INGOs, leading foreign investors, as well as esteemed organizations such as the United Nations (UNHCR), the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, etc. He has been advising reputable global corporations, including Chevron, Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, Mitsui, Marubeni, China Energy, China National Cable, Trest Rossem of Rosatom, Netflix, Axiata Group, MSC, Carl Zeiss, HG Power, Medtronic, Activision Blizzard, etc., alongside leading local conglomerates such as Bashundhara Group.
Career
Mr. Suhan Khan, FCIArb, is a Fellow of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK, a panel arbitrator of the Thailand International Arbitration Centre (THAC), and a Member of the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC). He was called to the Bar of England and Wales and practices as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Mr. Khan is the Managing Partner of Accord Chambers, one of Bangladesh’s leading law firms, and an accomplished arbitration and corporate law practitioner.
Mr. Khan regularly represents clients before the arbitration bench, admiralty and company bench of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, High Court Division, and is frequently instructed by top-tier international law firms for cross-border contentious and non-contentious matters.
He has previously worked as an international consultant and researcher for the University of California Berkeley, the War Crimes Studies Center, and the East-West Center based in the United States. He was also a part-time faculty member for the University of London International Programme and taught at its affiliate center, London College of Legal Studies (South). Before commencing his professional career in the year 2009, Mr. Khan obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and a Master of Laws from the Bristol Law School, UWE Bristol, UK. He was also professionally trained as a Barrister at the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice, UK from where he obtained PGDiL. He has also completed extensive international arbitration assessments and training at North America, New York, and Canada Branch of CIArb, UK.
