Susan has over 30 years of experience providing OSHA representation to employers across all industry sectors. Her practice includes compliance assistance, training, citation defense, participation in rulemaking, appellate administrative litigation, whistleblower cases, creation/oversight of PSM/RMP and general OSHA audit programs. She handles small and large matters, including infectious disease outbreaks, serious injury/fatality incidents, and other catastrophic events. She assists clients with navigating all aspects of significant health/safety events, including the internal investigation, governmental investigations, employee issues, whistleblower issues, communication strategy, and citation/litigation defense.
Susan’s practice also includes representing employers in other legal aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, tort claims, contract claims, defamation, wrongful discharge, trade secret, covenants not to compete, duty of loyalty, wage/hour, retaliation, FMLA, ADA, and WARN Act. She has particularly broad experience regarding medical and leave issues in the workplace, with a keen understanding of the interplay between federal/state family and medical leave laws, federal/state disability laws, state/local sick pay laws, OSHA and workers’ compensation. She has conducted a significant number of third party investigations where a member of senior or executive company leadership has been accused of wrongdoing.
