Experience

Tania regularly assists clients with antitrust and competition law issues arising from their commercial arrangements and has been involved in high-profile cartel and merger control cases before the Hellenic Competition Commission.

Tania provides clients with on-site assistance in dealing with dawn raids, including running workshops and mock exercises. Tania also advises on the application of EU law in Greece and the regulatory requirements applicable to the telecoms, media and technology sectors, regularly liaising with regulators such as the National Telecommunications and Post Commission, the National Council for Radio and Television, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority and the Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy.

She has extensive experience in advising telecoms operators on licensing requirements, compliance with their annual reporting obligations and telecoms issues relating to the use of new technologies and the launch of new products and services. Tania also has an expertise in advising on all aspects of EU and Greek data privacy rules and she routinely advises clients on the proactive identification, assessment and management of risks associated with their privacy practices. She assists clients in GDPR compliance steps, and advises extensively on how to identify compliance gaps and draft privacy policies, consent forms and data processing agreements.

Prior to joining the firm in 2010, she worked as a lawyer with an international law firm as a member of their EU & Competition law team and as a trainee at the DG COMP, Cartels Unit of the European Commission.

Tania holds a Degree in Law and a BA in Communication & Mass Media from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MA in International Law & Diplomacy from Panteion University, Athens and an LLM in International Legal Studies from New York University (NYU) School of Law. She is admitted to the Athens Bar (2012) and the New York Bar Association (2019).

Work Highlights

Tania is part of the team advising Intrakat in obtaining merger clearance from the Hellenic Competition Commission for the acquisition of Aktor from Ellaktor and Aktor Concessions.

She is also advising a global biotechnology company on data protection issues connected to its clinical trials, including notice and consent requirements of different categories of data subjects, such as healthcare professionals and patients. She acts on behalf of an Italian investment group with regard to data privacy issues such as employees' notice, consent forms and communication with customers connected with the company's presence in Greece.

She represents a global communications provider on establishing a presence in the Greek telecoms market and niche regulatory matters, including allocation/sub-allocation rules and in assessing permissibility of the envisaged business setup from a Greek telecoms perspective.

She advises the local subsidiary of an international biopharmaceutical company with respect to data privacy issues, including the contractual relationship with its partners and appropriate privacy notices, consent forms and other data privacy matters arising from its day-to-day operations, including the handling of sensitive patients’ data (health data).
