Mr. Patterson has represented debtors, creditors’ committees, and secured creditors in many large chapter 11 cases, and has also been involved in many significant insurer insolvency matters in California. Mr. Patterson has represented Brotman Medical Center, the developer of the Lake Las Vegas Resort and Development, Thorpe Insulation Company, Imagyn Medical Technologies, Inc., Aquarius Promotional Enterprises, Inc., and Cool Fuel Incorporated. He has extensive experience representing secured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out of court matters, and has also represented purchasers of assets and committees in significant bankruptcy cases across the country.
Career
Mr. Patterson is a partner of KTBS Law. Mr. Patterson is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy. Mr. Patterson was named the 2011 Century City Bankruptcy Attorney of the year and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, among other honors. Mr. Patterson graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy with First Class Honors. He attended Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence (First Class) in 1984 and a Bachelor of Civil Law (First Class) in 1985. He has written and lectured on bankruptcy topics.
