Nationally recognized authority in Aboriginal law. Advises industry clients and governments across Canada on aboriginal legal matters, and related environmental assessment, regulatory, negotiations, and constitutional issues. Has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, B.C. Court of Appeal, Ontario Energy Board, among others. Publications: Aboriginal Law, 6th (2024); The Law of Indigenous Ownership and Projects (2024); Aboriginal Law: Supreme Court of Canada Decisions (2016) and Aboriginal and Treaty Rights in the Maritimes: The Marshall Decision and Beyond, and numerous other books, articles, and reports. Bar Associations: Alberta, 2006; British Columbia, 2001; New Brunswick, 2021; Northwest Territories, 2003; Ontario, 2019; Saskatchewan, 2019, and Yukon, 2010. Serves a Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Law Group and Chair of the firm’s Aboriginal Law Group.
