Career
Dr Thorsten Bieg is a partner at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB. Before joining GÖRG, he worked at a nationwide law firm in Hamburg.
Dr Thorsten Bieg studied at the Wirtschaftsakademie Schleswig-Holstein from 1986-1989, while simultaneously completing his apprenticeship at Schleswag AG and ultimately gaining the qualification of Business Economist.
He subsequently studied law with a supplemental training in business at universities in Bayreuth and Aberdeen (UK). Dr Thorsten Bieg completed his legal training with clerkships at business law firms in Hamburg and South Africa. After his first state examination, he obtained a scholarship from the Free State of Bavaria at the department of public, international and European law under Prof Rudolf Streinz, where he gained his doctorate in law in 1997. Topic of his dissertation: The European Court of Justice and its influence on German tax law (in German).
He was admitted to the bar in 1998.
He qualified as a tax advisor in 2000.
Dr Thorsten Bieg has more than 20 years of professional experience and received partner status at GÖRG in 2000.
