Timothy is a partner in Reed Smith’s Singapore office and an international arbitration barrister. He represents clients in investment disputes across a wide range of sectors and jurisdictions in Asia, such as China, India, Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Timothy has particular experience in complex joint venture and shareholder disputes, cases involving energy and natural resources, transportation, and entertainment and media. He is also frequently appointed as sole, presiding and emergency arbitrator by arbitral institutions, fellow arbitrators and parties.
He is the author of the leading Singapore arbitration book, International Arbitration in Singapore: Legislation and Materials (Sweet & Maxwell, 2018).
Timothy is widely recognised by legal directories as a leading practitioner for arbitration. Chambers and Partners has reported that Timothy “is loved by clients for his no-nonsense approach,” adding that clients say he is “technically excellent and a stellar performer on his feet in front of arbitration panels and court benches in Singapore.” Benchmark Litigation has recognised him for many years as a Litigation Star for International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.
