Trudy is a barrister with 30 years’ experience advising on all aspects of competition law and competition litigation across a very broad range of industry sectors. She has experience of working on secondment for competition authorities (in Brussels and London) and for household name clients (in the motor vehicle and banking sectors).

Trudy’s career has spanned work in Brussels, Leeds and London and for national and international clients. For several years she was listed as a Leading Individual in Chambers and in the Hall of Fame in Legal 500 for Competition Law in the Regions (UK). Trudy joined the firm’s London office in October 2023. She brings a wealth of experience and technical legal knowledge across the full range of competition law matters. Highlights include an action in the Competition Appeal Tribunal for competition law damages arising from the EC Truck cartel, merger clearance of a politically sensitive joint venture between global competitors, successful leniency applications and closing down of cartel investigations into clients’ activities, and advising on commercial strategy for dominant businesses (including in regulated sectors).

Examples of client feedback include: “Trudy has developed excellent relationships with client and other stakeholders very quickly impressing both with her subject matter knowledge and experience but also her patience, empathy and trustworthiness” and “In an area of law that can be labyrinthine, Trudy combines an eye for detail with pragmatism. She knows that understanding the client’s business is key to the efficacy of the advice she gives.” (The Legal 500 2022)

Trudy also has experience of working as a Non-Executive Director in the National Health Service.
