Career
Vivian has been involved in a variety of high-profile and notable matters which involve international trade, and wet and dry shipping work. She regularly handles matters involving collisions, allisions, oil pollution, groundings, sinkings, wreck removal, charterparties, carriage of goods, sale and purchase of ships, ship agency and management agreements, ship repair and construction, mortgage enforcement of ship and aircraft, marine insurance, carriage of passengers, crew, logistics, freight forwarding, repair and maintenance of ship and aircraft, and the arrest, detention and re-possession of ship and aircraft.
Vivian is also actively involved in many arbitrations where she has acted as counsel in some and has sat and is still sitting as an arbitrator in others. She has sat in the capacity of sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), and a number of other ad hoc arbitrations.
She is also actively involved in mediation as mediator and has concluded several mediations successfully.
Vivian was recognised in 2019 and is still recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law by the Singapore Academy of Law.

Vivian is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law, the Arbitration Representative Council of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, the International Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of Singapore, the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association and the Singapore Institute of Legal Education Accreditation Committee (Accreditation Panel). She is also an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Vivian has contributed to numerous publications, including most recently, the Encyclopedia of International Commercial Litigation (Singapore chapter) 2024 published by Wolters Kluwer, and the Singapore Academy of Law Annual Review 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Chapter on Admiralty and Shipping Law.
