Career
A senior member of Kessler PR Group, Warren Cooper provides strategic communication counsel, reputation management and litigation support to clients facing personal or institutional crises.
Cooper provides media training to national and international clients facing the glare of public scrutiny; ghost writes political speeches, university commencement addresses, opinion pieces, and policy presentations for a variety of speakers, authors and audiences; drafts media statements for corporate and outside counsel to align with and bolster their litigation goals, and crafts traditional and social media messaging to support political and policy campaigns.
Cooper delivers crisis communications and reputation management guidance to Boards of Trustees and presidents of institutions of higher education facing merger, acquisition and closure; to Boards of Directors of for-profit and nonprofit entities facing criminal allegations of wrongdoing; religious institutions and leaders confronting accusations of mishandling claims of sexual harassment and assault, and other crimes. He works extensively with attorneys representing individuals, religious institutions, corporations and other organizations under investigation by federal, state and local law enforcement, as well as providing similar counsel to municipal, county, state and federal elected officials and non-elected community leaders. In addition, Cooper is a sought-after speaker on cyber incident communications, media relations and reputation risk management.
Cooper leans on his doctorate in psychology to deliver one-on-one executive coaching that employs behavior-based strategies to enhance leadership communication skills and cultivate time and project management tools that boost effective goal setting, team-building and performance.
In advising clients, Warren draws on his years as an award-winning investigative reporter, as well as his own experience handling media as a New Jersey businessman, mayor and school board president. Warren earned a doctoral degree in psychology at Rutgers University and a BA in English at Binghamton University. He has taught psychology at Rutgers and journalism and communications at Raritan Valley Community College.
