Wesley Pydiamah advises and represents governments, State-entities and private multinational companies in proceedings before institutional and ad hoc arbitral tribunals (including under ICSID, ICC, SIAC, PCA, LCIA, DIFC and UNCITRAL Rules) in relation to disputes in the construction, mining, energy and telecom sectors. He also has significant experience in proceedings before international tribunals such as the Iran-US Claims Tribunal.
Wesley's regional focus is on Africa. As the Deputy Head of Eversheds Sutherland’s Africa Group since October 2019, he is responsible for developing the Africa practice of the firm across francophone Africa, and works closely with all local law firms forming the Eversheds Sutherland Africa Alliance.
Wesley lectures on OHADA arbitration and disputes in Africa at the University of Paris 2 Panthéon Assas and lectures at the London School of Economics on arbitration in Africa. He is a founding member of AfricArb, a not-for-profit organisation promoting arbitration in Africa, and serves on the advisory board of the MARC Court, the leading arbitral institution in Mauritius dedicated to resolving Africa-related disputes. He regularly publishes articles on arbitration in Africa and speaks at conferences about doing business in francophone Africa. He is fluent in French and English.
