Career
Bill is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on real estate, construction, and business disputes. Although he has significant trial experience, Bill understands the value of negotiating a settlement and evaluates all options to attain his client’s goals. Having seen first-hand how projects and agreements can fall apart or be saved, he is well positioned to provide counseling and advice from contract negotiation, to implementation, to negotiated settlements, and through trial if needed.
The complimentary nature of construction and real estate are well suited to Bill’s practice and have allowed him to work with developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, property owners, REITS, financial institutions, and energy companies, of all sizes and in all phases of a project. Bill can help obtain entitlements, zoning appeals, and challenge governmental decisions. He regularly handles easement, ownership, and landlord-tenant disputes as well. And his construction practice focuses primarily on payment, delay, and defect claims. He prosecutes and defends a mechanic’s lien and schedule disputes, and often helps clients navigate complicated change order and pay application disputes during a project. Throughout all of this, Bill always works closely with his clients to understand their financial, business, and litigation goals and then develops a strategy to obtain those goals as efficiently and effectively as possible. This makes him a strong counselor and advocate when representing a client who is putting a deal together, negotiating a settlement, or when going to court.
