Career

Yvette has been a lawyer since 1993 and operates a consultancy and litigation practice focused on liability, corporate governance and corporate litigation. She is also regularly involved in international trade disputes, also in the form of arbitration. Her many years of experience allow Yvette to act, tactically and strategically, as a trusted boardroom advisor.

She assists a variety of companies and institutions, including semi-public and other foundations as well as listed companies, and represents a wide range of managing directors, supervisory directors and shareholders. She regularly operates in sensitive investigations and claim cases. Yvette skilfully litigates in preliminary relief proceedings before the Enterprise Court at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal (right of investigation and mismanagement) and has been involved in complex, high-profile proceedings on the merits, also in international cases. She furthermore acts as an investigator appointed by the Enterprise Court, as a share administrator and as a liquidator.

Yvette lectures in postgraduate courses and at seminars in the Netherlands and abroad, and is a JOR annotator, an editorial member of the Corporate Litigation Association’s annual publication, and lead author of the Chambers Litigation Practice Guide 2023. She also contributed to The Legal 500 Litigation Country Comparative Guide 2021, which has been published since July 2021. Click here to view the chapter.

She is vice president of the IBA Litigation Committee, a board member of the Corporate Litigation Association and a member of the Foreign Countries Committee of the Netherlands Bar Association and of the governing board of the Corporate Litigation Chair at Vrije Universiteit. Yvette is also involved in VNO-NCW, the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers. Before Florent was founded, Yvette was a partner at Höcker.
