Roy Cohen founded Cohen Seglias as a boutique construction firm in 1988, and today we remain one of the nation’s premier construction practices. By operating in good faith and being responsive and conscientious business partners, our footprint and capabilities have grown alongside our clients’ needs. In 1988, Roy Cohen began a boutique law firm focused on providing clients in the construction industry with legal services. Business Transactions:

The national construction practice ranks among the largest in the nation, ranked seventh in Construction Executive’s “Top 50 Construction Law Firms” in 2021. 50 fulltime construction attorneys represent industry clients including managers, general contractors, suppliers, design professionals, and a range of specialty trade subcontractors such as electrical, mechanical, concrete, flooring, and architectural glass. Construction projects include bridges, water treatment plants, petro-chemical plants, dams, highways, major office buildings, stadiums, hospitals, shopping centers, condominiums, government buildings, airports, factories, and schools.
Construction Contracts & Risk Management:
Members of the group work with clients from project conception to completion to simplify the construction process, protect a client’s rights and minimize risk. This includes reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts, purchase orders, joint venture agreements, change orders, performance and payment bonds, indemnity agreements, insurance policies, releases, and mechanics’ lien waivers.
Consumer Protection & Regulatory Defense:
Cohen Seglias attorneys advise Fortune 500 corporations and other businesses in Pennsylvania attorney general consumer protection investigations. Attorneys defend against allegations of unfair business practices under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices as well as individual and class action claims involving federal consumer protection laws.
