Jaffa Law was founded in 2020, when Tony Jaffa and his team decided that the time was right to serve their clients by way of a dedicated, specialist, and tightly-knit group of experts who concentrate on media, information, reputation, and intellectual property law.
The team's existing clients all transferred to the new firm, who all benefitted from a seamless transition.
Jaffa Law primarily advises newspapers and online news publishers, broadcasters, and web publishers, but the firm also advises companies, other trading bodies, and selected individuals.
Everyone in the team is an experts in all aspects of media law, including defamation; copyright; privacy; data protection; pre-publication/pre-broadcast copy checking; post-publication complaints; litigation and mediation; compliance with the Codes of Practice issued by the Independent Press Standards Organisation, IMPRESS, the Advertising Standards Authority, and Ofcom; contempt of court; and Court reporting restrictions.
The ethos of the firm is that whilst it is able to represent its clienrs in the event of them being sued, prevention is far better than the cure This means that we take the view that clients should be advised on how best to resolve disputes and avoid litigation in a commercially attractive and cost effective way, with litigation very much being the last resort.
The firm advises clients who are based in England and Wales, Northern Ireland, and the USA.
