Mr Ruiz is also an independent board member at one of CFE’s power generator companies and represents clients in anti-trust filings before COFECE and IFT.

Principal deals include: representation of Iusacell in the sale of its wireless unit to a major US based carrier; representation of a US based TV network in order to obtain a spectrum license for the transmission of a major and international sports event in Mexico; representation of different large and medium size clients in their contracting of Telmex’s and Telcel’s public reference offers; counseling a major international carrier in its proceedings for the restructuring of transmissions along the US-Mexico border; obtaining a single concession license for the Mexican subsidiary of a major British carrier; representation of a major satellite group in its entering to the Mexican telecoms market by obtaining several foreign satellite coordinations, authorisations and a single concession license; the successful negotiation of peering and interconnection agreements with Telmex; representation of a binational carrier in the acquisition of two telecom targets that owned wireless, metropolitan and long haul fiber infrastructure; representation of fiber optic network carriers in the negotiation of IRU capacity and infrastructure agreements; and the representation of major and medium size clients in media agreements for the distribution of online content.
