European Offices:
London:
The London office was established more than 40 years ago and boasts a premier team of lawyers qualified in the UK, US and jurisdictions around the world. The London-based international arbitration and dispute resolution practice is world renowned and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex and challenging international arbitrations to arise in recent years. The office’s white collar defence and investigations lawyers advise on all aspects of criminal and regulatory investigations, working across jurisdictions on matters such as fraud, insider dealing, market abuse, bribery and corruption, cartel defence, and corporate investigations. The IP litigation practice advises clients across the full range of intellectual property disputes, including those relating to patents, breach of confidence and trade secrets, trademarks, passing off, domain names, copyright, registered designs, and design right.
Berlin:
The Berlin office opened more than 25 years ago to serve the increasing needs of the firm’s international regulatory and public policy clients in unified Germany and Europe. The office has since become a leading regulatory law firm in Germany, offering services that span antitrust (including merger filings and cartel litigation), and public policy work (including addressing legislation and parliamentary inquiry committees). Lawyers in the office excel at resolving high-stakes disputes, focusing primarily on litigating and arbitrating matters that raise complex strategic, legal or factual issues. The firm’s compliance and internal investigations team — which collaborates regularly with the firm’s US and UK offices — offers a fully integrated domestic and cross-border practice and is regarded as one of the best in Germany.
Frankfurt:
The Frankfurt office opened in 2008, expanding the firm’s geographic footprint in Europe as well as in one of the world’s critical financial centres. The office focuses on high-stakes litigation and arbitration matters with both civil and regulatory components; contentious and non-contentious antitrust and EU-regulatory matters; and corporate transactional matters with an emphasis on the technology sector. The office has one of Germany’s preeminent data privacy and cybersecurity practices, offers a fully integrated domestic and cross-border compliance and investigations practice, and works closely with the firm’s premier IP litigation practice.
Brussels:
The Brussels office opened in 1990, just as the European Community introduced its merger control regulation and in anticipation of the impact of the single market in 1992. Since opening, the office has contributed to the leading reputation of the firm in Europe and has gained widespread recognition as one of the premier law offices in Brussels. The office serves clients in all aspects of antitrust and competition law, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, merger control and state aid. The office features leading practices in EU regulation and legislative advocacy, trade and WTO, and litigation before both Belgian courts and the Community Courts in Luxembourg. It has particular experience representing clients in industry sectors including aviation, communications, consumer goods, energy and environment, financial services, food and drug, IT, and life sciences, and its lawyers are qualified in many of the major European and North American jurisdictions.
