Stearns Weaver Miller’s Bankruptcy/Restructuring group represents parties in the restructuring and working out of secured and unsecured credit facilities and routinely handles financings secured by a variety of assets, including commercial real estate. We represent debtors, creditors, trustees, receivers, landlords, asset purchasers, and other parties in bankruptcy cases, receiverships, assignment for the benefit of creditors proceedings, and out-of-court work-outs. We also handle the defense and prosecution of director and officer liability cases and litigate complex insolvency-related cases in federal and state courts.

Our Bankruptcy/Restructuring Department has represented large national and regional companies in Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings, including airlines, manufacturing and retail concerns, financial institutions, and one of the nation's largest hotel management concerns. We also handled two of the largest Chapter 11 reorganizations ever administered in the Southern District of Florida.

We also have an active cross-border insolvency (Chapter 15) practice, assisting foreign representatives and parties involved in these matters.
