The Chambers: Park Square Barristers (PSQB) is one of the leading common law barristers’ chambers
in the country.
PSQB was formed in 2015 following the merger of two prominent sets in Leeds, Number 6 and Sovereign
Chambers. In November 2020 Old Court Chambers in Teesside joined PSQB.
The Leeds office is based in prestigious Park Square in the heart of Leeds City
Centre. In 2022 they opened a new office in Centre Square Middlesbrough
directly opposite Teesside Combined Court and in summer 2024 opened an office
in Newcastle.
PSQB combines the traditions of the Bar with a modern and progressive business approach.
Its ability to attract and develop the best legal talent is clearly demonstrated by
the number of members who have been appointed to the judiciary. In the last 18
months, 4 barristers secured full time judicial appointments, 3 to the Circuit
bench and 1 District Judge. Several more barristers were appointed to sit part
time as Recorders, Assistant Coroners and Chairs in other jurisdictions
including the Medical Practitioners Tribunal and Social Work England.
Over a third of PSQB barristers now hold part time judicial positions. This experience and knowledge
supports and strengthens everyone working with, and for Park Square Barristers.
Head of Chambers, Richard Wright KC, a highly respected silk, is supported by Deputy Heads of Chambers
Kama Melly KC and Paul Abrahams.
PSQB is committed to all aspects of equality and diversity.
It has strong links to universities and schools providing training, careers advice and judging mooting
competitions.

formidable team with 8 Kings Counsel and outstanding juniors.

Huw Lippiatt, leads the PSQB Family Team which comprises 60 Barristers and two
Kings Counsel including Charlotte Worsley KC. The team has built up a
reputation as being the “first choice” for Family Law. The teams Public Law
work covers all aspects of care proceedings including infant death,
non-accidental injuries, forced marriage and sexual abuse. Its Private Law work
covers adoption, domestic abuse, relocation disputes and all aspects of
financial remedies.
Court of Protection & Adult care:
The team boasts experienced practitioners who are regularly instructed in both and
financial matters, including deprivation of liberty applications and reviews
under the Mental Capacity Act.
