Career
Adam acts for healthcare professionals and businesses in regulatory, disciplinary, criminal and Inquest matters. He leads on medical crime matters in the London team and his regulatory caseload includes matters before the GMC/MPTS, GDC, GOC, HCPC and GPhC as well as numerous investigations by NHS England and Hospital Trusts. Adam is also instructed in complex Inquest proceedings and he has advised medical professionals invited to provide evidence to the Infected Blood Inquiry.
Adam defends healthcare professionals in criminal cases involving gross negligence manslaughter, neglect, Medicines Act offences, sexual assault, common assault, fraud against the NHS, racially motivated public order offences, perverting the course of justice and indecent images of children. He routinely advises clients in relation to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) matters following the closure of criminal and regulatory investigations.
He is frequently instructed to advise in CQC investigations (particularly in the care home environment) and NHS investigations into misconduct and performance concerns. He also advises talking therapists in investigations by the various voluntary regulators.
