Career
Alex is a seasoned litigation Counsel known for his tenacity and extensive experience in civil litigation, including corporate, company and shareholder disputes, defamation, and commercial law. He has garnered recognition for his work in administrative, trade union, and industrial law, and has been involved in several landmark cases over the years concerning company law, land law, directors’ duties, and administrative law.
Alex is sought after by diverse clients, from public listed companies to individuals. He is well-versed in navigating various legal forums, including the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. Alex has extensive experience in acting and appearing in various arbitrations mainly involving commercial and contractual disputes. He is a certified mediator and is listed as a mediator with the Malaysian Mediation Centre under the Bar Council. He also holds a Certificate for Sports Arbitration from the AIAC, qualifying him to sit as an arbitrator for sports-related disputes.
Alex is also actively involved in the Bar Council’s efforts to increase the proficiency and standards of its members in litigation. He spends several weekends a year training lawyers in the Bar Council’s Advocacy Training Course in the art and skills of litigation. He has also trained lawyers in the Advanced Training Course in South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Keble College, Oxford.
