Ben's practice comprises complex criminal and regulatory cases. Within crime his specialities are homicide and serious violence, organised crime, and corporate/white collar crime. Recent and ongoing work includes: multiple gang-related murder, firearms and drugs cases involving intricate telephone and CCTV analysis, both leading for the Crown and defending against 2-counsel teams; multi-million pound drug and tobacco importation cases; homicides in respect of children and vulnerable adults, with expert witnesses across a plethora of medical specialities; defending in multi-million pound fraud and money-laundering matters – involving complexities such as international bond markets, money transfer systems and contract interpretation. Ben's regulatory work encompasses health and safety, fire safety, food safety, environmental crime, consumer protection and inquests. Recent and ongoing work includes: prosecuting wholesale trading in counterfeit and other illicit products; prosecuting organised fraud conspiracies involving taxi licensing, industrial refuse processing; prosecuting and defending regarding workplace fatalities; advising and representing corporations on H&S matters; prosecuting and defending environmental matters of particular complexity and involving major corporations.

CPS specialist panels for serious crime, fraud, rape and confiscation. Attorney General's List of Specialist Regulatory Advocates in Health and Safety and Environmental Law (Band B).
