Benjamin has more than 15 years of commercial experience in the Eurasian region - including 9 years based in Kazakhstan and Russia. Between 2007 and 2016, Benjamin worked with exporters from Europe and North America seeking to access to regional markets, giving him extensive experience of government-business relations. In 2016, he moved into political risk consulting at a strategic analysis firm, where he covered the former Soviet region. He has a master’s degree in international development from Bristol University. He is fluent in Russian.

I work with corporates and financial institutions that have direct exposure to the Eurasian region through direct investments. This is typically working with corporate strategy and government affairs on the performance, expansion, and protection of our their international commercial activities.

I also have extensive experience working with internal and external counsel on disputes and other legal matters that either originate in the region or require a specific regional expertise.

I work throughout the Eurasian continent, from Central Europe to China. I have particular expertise on Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

At PRISM, we ensure we have a deep understanding of the industries in which our clients operate. I lead much of work that focusses on the energy and mining sectors, as well as finance and banking. I have a good working knowledge of the sectors across the Eurasian region, the stakeholders, and the policy challenges associated with each sector.
