Career
Carlos Mário da Silva Velloso Filho, born in 1963, is a highly experienced litigator with a career spanning more than twenty-five years. He obtained his LL.B from the University of Brasília in 1985 and subsequently founded Advocacia Velloso. His affiliations include membership in various esteemed legal associations and societies. Notably, he held the position of Vice-President of the Federal District Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association from 2001 to 2003 and as the President of the Institute of Brazilian Lawyers for the Federal District Area.
In parallel to his private practice, Carlos Mário has served as a Federal District State Attorney since 1988. Furthermore, his involvement as an examiner in numerous public examinations for the selection of trial court judges and prosecutors over the past twenty-five years underscores his commitment to legal excellence.
Carlos Mário's distinguished career has been recognized through a series of accolades, including the Order of Lawyer Merit (1996), Order of Merit of Dom Bosco (1999), Order of Merit of the Federal District Judicial Branch (2002), Order of Merit of the State Public Prosecutor’s Office (2003), and Order of Merit of the Regional Electoral Court (2004), in addition to receiving the prestigious Miranda Lima Medal from the Brazilian Bar Association in 2011.
Moreover, Carlos Mário has authored several publications and is a regular speaker at conferences, imparting his expertise on topics pertaining to the practice of law before Brazilian Higher Courts.
