Practice Areas

Partner in the firm’s International Trade & Investment Law Group, and Industry Group Leader of its National Retail and Consumer Markets Group. Carmen’s practice provides advice across a wide range of trade, regulatory, and compliance matters.

Within her international trade practice, Carmen has significant experience acting for clients in anti-dumping investigations, international investment disputes, import and export control matters, and customs and sanctions compliance. She has represented clients before the CITT, the WTO Appellate Body, the FCA, and various trade-related administrative bodies.

Carmen’s complementary regulatory practice supports clients at each stage of the compliance continuum. She has extensive experience in the regulation of consumer retail products, and products subject to specialized regulatory regimes including alcoholic beverages, cannabis, controlled goods, cosmetics, natural health products, and medical devices.

Together, Carmen’s trade and regulatory practices provide clients with seamless advice as they navigate the obstacles and opportunities arising from the provision of goods and services across international borders.
