Catarina Belim boasts a rich background in Tax and Customs matters.
She launched her career in Deloitte’s Indirect Tax division before transitioning to VdA, where she thrived for nearly a decade, significantly contributing to the growth of the firm’s tax practice.
In 2016, Catarina took the bold step of founding her own firm, BELIM, which specializes in Tax, Customs, and International Trade.
Catarina offers a wide range of services to both corporate and private clients, providing insightful and thorough legal, tax, and customs guidance. Her work encompasses representation in litigation, as well as hands-on support in compliance, reporting, invoicing, and licensing issues.
Since 2018, Catarina has been listed as an eligible tax arbitrator with CAAD – the Portuguese Arbitration Centre for tax and administrative proceedings, where she adjudicates on significant VAT cases involving national and EU law.
Active member in international organisations such as IVA – International VAT Association, GLCA – Global Legal Customs Association and AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers (Tax Law Commission) and IBA.
Catarina publishes regularly and is a frequent speaker, promotor and participant in conferences and events for the discussion and further development of tax, VAT & customs matters.
