Career

Chris Timmons is a trial attorney who has tried more than 100 cases to judges and juries in federal and state courts, including over 60 jury trials, almost all as sole or chief counsel. His trial experience includes partnership disputes, breach of contract, RICO, employment, opioid, gambling, police brutality, and public corruption cases. Chris has additional experience arguing multiple cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

Chris focuses his practice on trying cases to juries either as chief counsel or in a supporting role for other attorneys, including consulting on jury selection and trial strategy. He is also an expert on the Georgia RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act.

Chris has been an adjunct law professor at Georgia State University College of Law for the last 14 years, teaching Trial Advocacy and Jury Selection Courses, and is on the Executive Committee of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and a Master in the Bleckley Inn of Court.

Chris is a frequent commentator in the national and international media on issues related to trial practice and RICO. He is an ABC News legal contributor and has appeared on various networks, including CBS, PBS, NPR, CNN, CBC, ARD and BBC. Among other notable publications, Chris has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and The Washington Post.

Prior to joining Knowles Gallant Timmons, Chris served as a Georgia prosecutor for over 17 years in DeKalb and Cobb Counties and was also a litigation associate at King & Spalding in Atlanta and Taft, Stettinius & Hollister in Cincinnati.
