Career

Over the past 20 years, Dan Cody has developed a strong understanding of the evolving business and legal challenges impacting health care providers, suppliers, digital health entities and life sciences companies. Dan's practice focuses upon counseling and defending hospitals, health systems, post-acute care providers, and digital health, medical technology, and life sciences companies. Specifically, he provides regulatory compliance counseling and leads civil fraud investigations and litigation, particularly under the civil False Claims Act and similar state laws. In that regard, Dan manages a variety of federal and state government inquiries, negotiates settlements and corporate integrity agreements, and handles federal and state court matters and state administrative agency proceedings.

Dan regularly advises health care industry clients on a wide array of complex regulatory compliance and reimbursement issues including federal and state anti-kickback statutes, federal and state referral prohibitions, and adherence to industry codes of conduct. He provides guidance to digital health and medical technology companies with respect to state regulatory and reimbursement issues, corporate practice of medicine prohibitions, and federal and state fraud and abuse considerations, among others. Dan also assists health care and life sciences companies with licensing, accreditation, privacy, and Medicare and Medicaid coverage, reimbursement and pricing matters.
