David is at the forefront of extradition practice with over a decade of experience in the niche and often overlapping issues around international movement of those sought in relation to criminal proceedings.
Career
David has extensive experience of appearing in cases before the Criminal, Administrative, and Divisional Courts, led and alone, encompassing appellate work extradition proceedings, and judicial review.
He has particular experience in cases involving Article 3 of the European Convention of Human Rights and has acted in the lead cases in a number of European jurisdictions which have led directly to improvements in conditions of detention.
David was recently instructed in the lead case dealing with Greek prison conditions and presented accepted evidence of breach of previous assurances; the request was dropped at that stage.
He has acted in securing a number of high-profile discharges in relation to requests from the USA. See case examples:

David is also frequently instructed for his measured advice on pre-extradition request tactics, compromise and in respect of unusual jurisdictions. Examples include UAE, Iran, and Thailand.
