Partner and head of clinical negligence. Eddie has over 25 years of experience in high value medical negligence claims with a particular interest in actions for children and adults with brain and spinal injuries. Recent notable cases include the child brain injury cases of OXG v Manchester University Hospitals Trust £25m (2024) (birth asphyxia) GXK v Royal Devon & Exeter NHSFT which settled for £20m (2022) (kernicterus); LXH v Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust £14.5m (2022) (hypoglycaemia) and A v CH NHS Foundation Trust £26m (2019) (birth asphyxia). Also kernicterus cases of BXZ v Bolton NHS Foundation Trust £9.7m (2024) K v W hospital trust £15m (2020) and EA v B NHS trust £18m (2017) and adult brain injury case of GXC v Spire Hospitals Limited £7.5m (2023).
Eddie has specialist expertise in spinal injury cases and specifically cauda equina syndrome. Recent settlements include £5m (2023) J v M NHS Foundation Trust, £3.75m (2022) CR v CDDNHSFT, and £9.3m (2019) AB v XY NHS Trust.

Qualified 1992. Previously with Hempsons. Joined JMW in 1998. Partner from 1999.
