Advised a consortium led by Acciona Energía, Spain’s leading operator in renewables, in connection with the US$264million financing for the development of one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Latin America, deriving from the second long-term energy auction for the wholesale electric power market organized by the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) of Mexico (MIREC Project of the Year award)
Advised Banco Compartamos S.A. Institución de Banca Múltiple, Mexico’s largest microfinance institution, in obtaining US$70 million in loans from Citi, the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to be used to provide loans to primarily women-owned small businesses in Mexico
Advised Alsea, a multi-brand restaurant operator with operations in Mexico, Latin America and Europe, in the €635 million senior secured dual currency syndicated term loan facility for the strategic acquisition by Alsea of Grupo Vips in Spain (becoming the largest restaurant group in the Iberian market)
Advised Pemex, Mexico's state-owned petroleum company, in the divestment process of its participation in two strategic natural gas pipe-lines, the first major Pemex-sponsored midstream assets built in partnership with foreign capital since the approval of Mexico's historic Energy Reform, in favor of BlackRock and Ienova
Advised Bancomext (Mexico's export credit agency), in the MXN$400,000,000 financing to Mota Engil, a leading Portuguese conglomerate in the construction sector, for the development of Parque Urbano Aztlan, a multi-purpose park in a space of 6 hectares within Bosque de Chapultepec in Mexico City
Advised Giddings Fruit S.A., a Latin American fruit export company, as the borrower in a US$90 million loan from Prudential Financial and US health insurer Cigna, through a note purchase and guarantee agreement, to fund its operations in Latin America and pay existing debt
Advised Tuhabi, the Mexican affiliate of Habi, Latin America´s first unicorn in the proptech sector, securing $400 million pesos in financing from BBVA´s new start-ups financing division, BBVA Spark (marking the first transaction of BBVA Spark in Mexico), and in an up to US$50 million debt facility with IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the IDB Group.
Advised a syndicate of lenders led by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in the proposed financing of a hydrocarbons storage facility in salt cavern, first project of its kind in Latin America
BBVA Bancomer, Mexico's largest banking institution, in the MXN$25,000 million refinancing of the public debt of the State of Mexico (Latin Finance Magazine's Deal of the Year Award)
