Elizabeth Hodgetts practises exclusively in employment law and employment-related civil litigation, undertaking the most complex and high value claims. Her Employment Tribunal practice includes considerable work on behalf of Government bodies and agencies as a member of the Attorney-General’s A-panel of Counsel; local authorities; educational institutions; and private sector employers. She also welcomes instructions from claimants. Her ET practice predominantly features complex and high value discrimination claims, including claims for psychiatric injury arising from discrimination; and complex and high value whistleblowing claims. She also welcomes instructions in equal pay and collective consultation claims. Elizabeth advises and represents in employment-related High Court litigation, including claims for breach of employment contract, and claims relating to restrictive covenants and industrial action in which injunctive relief is sought. Her recent caseload includes: advising and representing in a High Court group action claim for breach of employment contracts relating to a job evaluation exercise; successfully applying on behalf of a local authority for a High Court injunction to prevent strike action; appearing in the Court of Appeal on a jurisdictional point relating to a claim for post-employment injury benefits; and representing a government department in a 3 week Employment Tribunal case defending multiple claims of disability discrimination and victimisation in which the claimant asserts psychiatric injury and seeks career-long loss of earnings.
