Career
Experienced litigator and mediator used to tackling complex problems of law and evidence in appellate and first instance courts and though ADR. Acting for and advising international and domestic clients involved in acutely sensitive inquests and inquiries, strategic litigation, investigations, regulatory claims and prosecutions, operating across governmental, philanthropic, charitable, transport, housing, commercial, pharmaceutical, technology, development and healthcare sectors. Strong international component to case load.
Case strategist and litigation project manager developing, implementing and managing complex legal projects involving, for example, funding issues (including third party liability), setting the parameters of litigation and the scope of internal investigations, complex disclosure/discovery exercises, case management, lay and expert evidence, drafting individual and composite pleadings, preliminary arguments on jurisdiction (particularly in cases involving novel legal issues), stakeholder engagement, legal education, negotiation, and risk appraisal and mitigation.
Particular focus on: strategic litigation, inquests and inquiries, group/class actions (including those involving natural disasters, product liability, catastrophic injury and alleged human rights abuses), environmental claims, health and safety prosecutions, and regulatory and internal investigations.
