Fiona is a partner in our Will & Trusts Disputes team. She qualified as a solicitor at Nabarro in 1997 where she worked as a commercial litigator, before joining Henmans in 2006 and specialising in contentious probate work. Fiona joined Wilsons as an associate in 2009 and became a partner in 2012.

Fiona specialises in advising on disputes involving legacies (covering the entire range of probate claims, claims for the rectification of wills and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975) and disputes arising during the course of the administration of trusts and estates. Fiona enjoys resolving the deadlock that can occur in the administration of estates, either as the executors have fallen out with one another, or because the executors have fallen out with the beneficiaries of the estate.

She has particular experience in acting for charities, having first advised them in the 1990s on a wide variety of general contentious matters (from governance issues to contract/tort disputes), with her more recent focus being on legacy and probate administration disputes.

Fiona is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), and mentors students undertaking the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration run by the Institute of Legacy Management in conjunction with the University of Law. In addition, she is a joint presenter of the contentious probate day of the Institute of Legacy Management's training course on Advanced Legacy Administration each year.
