Frances has a reputation for being a highly experienced, senior, junior criminal defence practitioner.

She acts for those charged with the most serious criminal offences including terrorism, homicide, complex criminal conspiracies, drug trafficking (both nationally and with a cross-border element), explosives, firearms, serious violence and fraud.

She has developed a reputation for having a particular specialism in cases involving complex electronic / telephony evidence and was instructed in one of the leading cases which challenged the admissibility of evidence obtained as a result of the breach of the EncroChat system (Operation Embossed). She has been instructed in a number of significant EncroChat cases and secured what is believed to have been the first acquittal after trial by jury based on such material.
