Partner Håkon Bleken has extensive experience representing clients in litigation and arbitration in all levels of the courts and tribunals and experience as a judge at the district court and appellate court levels. He has recently prosecuted cases in the areas of contract/energy, IPR/trademark and contract/ European Convention on Human Rights before the Supreme Court.

Fluent in English and Norwegian, Partner Bleken represents both Norwegian and international clients and is experienced in cross-border litigation and procedural challenges related to cross-border processes.

He is particularly renowned for his expert handling of contentious patent cases, especially within the pharmaceutical field. Among recent highlights, he successfully litigated precedent-setting matters before the Supreme Court, including the landmark Donepezil case which is a keystone decision is a in the Norwegian law on the doctrine of equivalence, determining the scope of patent protection.

In addition to his well-respected patent work, Partner Bleken has a diverse and experienced practice in dispute resolution, including special focus in contract/offshore fabrication and energy issues. He also advises on terms of entry into contracts and cases of default, and has considerable experience with contracts in the area of transactions bordering on corporate law.
