Career
Mr. Ryoo focuses his practice on IP rights enforcement with a particular emphasis on patents and trade secrets. Mr. Ryoo is also the head of Lee & Ko’s IP Prosecution Group. Given his technical background, Mr. Ryoo is well-positioned to represent clients in all major technical fields, including chemical, electrical and mechanical sciences. Moreover, Mr. Ryoo’s expertise in intellectual property litigation covers all venues, including prosecution matters before the Korean Intellectual Property Office, invalidation and scope confirmation trials before the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board and the Patent Court, and infringement actions before the judicial courts. Mr. Ryoo has also represented clients in cases such as a criminal matter related to trade secrets misappropriation. Mr. Ryoo received a B.S. degree in chemical technology from Seoul National University in 1994 and an LLM degree from University of Washington in 2009.
