Jahad is a highly experienced specialist employment solicitor. He is a Founding Partner of Rahman Lowe Solicitors and advises both employers and senior individuals on all aspects of complex employment law matters.
He is recognised for his expertise in complex discrimination and whistle-blowing cases, and has been consistently ranked as a 'Leading Individual' in all the major legal directories.
Since 2012, the Firm has gone from strength to strength. Jahad has a prestigious client base, which includes global luxury brands, planning consultancies, recruitment firms, niche financial institutions, CEOs, MDs and other senior executives. He regularly advises and engages with international companies that have a presence in the UK.
Jahad has particular expertise in advising senior executives and high-net-worth individuals on the termination of employment contracts, post termination restrictions, retention payments and share schemes. He regularly advises on terminations in the financial services sector and has experience of FCA compliance and disciplinary issues. He also advises on professional misconduct and regulatory matters (GMC, NMC, among others), misuse of social media, privacy and defamation.
Jahad has been involved in a number of strategic and ground-breaking employment cases, which have been reported in the press (Times, Financial Times, Telegraph, Independent, The Sun, Daily Mirror, among others) and on national TV (BBC) including the high-profile whistleblowing claims of Sue Allison v Morecambe Bay NHS Trust and Dr Chris Day v (1) Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust and (2) Health Education England.
Jahad featured as ‘lawyer in the news’ in the Law Society Gazette in May 2019 following his successful employment tribunal whistleblowing claim involving the inappropriate use of NDAs in the matter of Allison v Morecombe Bay NHS Trust [2019]. Following the hearing, the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock confirmed that he would ban the use of NDAs in NHS settlement agreements – the case was widely reported in the press.
Jahad is regularly approached to provide commentary for newspapers, including the Financial Times, The Times, Telegraph and he has appeared on BBC News and BBC Radio. He regularly conducts seminars and training on developments in Employment and Discrimination Law for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Europe’s largest network of HR professionals.
