John Beardsworth has more than 40 years of experience focusing on corporate transactions and finance in the infrastructure, mining and energy industries. He has served as global head of the firm’s Business Practice Group, served multiple terms on the Firm’s Executive Committee and its Partnership Admissions Committee and also served as the Chair of the American Bar Association’s Infrastructure and Regulated Industries Section. He has extensive experience in project development and finance matters, restructuring, public-private partnerships, energy regulation, investment and credit support techniques and asset acquisitions and sales. Mr. Beardsworth has represented governments, investor-owned and parastatal companies, financial institutions and equity investors worldwide. He has advised the World Bank Group, the United States International Development Finance Corporation and other development finance institutions, governments and public and private sector clients on infrastructure, mining and energy transactions, often in Africa and other emerging markets. He has worked with many emerging market governments in connection with the drafting of or revising energy and infrastructure sector legislation and regulations, as well as advising on ground-breaking public private partnership (PPP) laws. Mr. Beardsworth is a co-author of the World Bank publication Resource Financed Infrastructure.
