José Manuel has served as a tax and legal advisory expert for many of the most important multinational companies with special expertise in strategic corporate planning and the establishment of new business ventures in the Dominican Republic.

José Manuel has an established and lasting career as a lawyer with a multi-sectorial practice, which includes broad experience in matters such as asset acquisition, double taxation processes, stock market operations, foreign investment transactions, complex and government financial contracts, design of fiscal structures aimed at financial restructuring and granting of financing, investment portfolios and related disputes, and the presentation of both legal and fiscal defenses before the Dominican Tax Authorities and Tax Courts.

Career

José Manuel is Partner of KPMG Dominicana’s Tax & Legal practice, serving as head of the department and leader of the team. His experience is comprised of more than 20 years as a tax and legal consultant, which include 8 years as Director of the practice, prior to being promoted to Partner in 2022.

Prior to joining KPMG, José Manuel served as a high-ranked official in the Dominican Tax Administration, which constitutes an added value for clients involved in complex national and international corporate transactions or disputes.
