Kate has many years of experience advising trustees and employers in relation to all aspects of pensions law. She has advised them on scheme mergers, benefit changes including closure to new entrants/accrual as well as liability management exercises (including enhanced transfer, bridging pensions and pension increase exchanges).

More recently Kate has advised both employers and trustees on GMP equalisation and GMP conversion exercises and reviewing benefit specifications in preparation for scheme buy-ins/buy-outs including, where appropriate the management of surplus via escrow arrangements.

Kate also advises clients on UK and multi-jurisdictional corporate transactions. She also assists contractors managing the risks associated with participating in public sector schemes.

She is experienced in projects to transfer DC benefits from hybrid schemes to master trusts, as well as advising trustees on scheme investments, including asset backed funding arrangements, LDI and pooled investment funds. Kate has also advised a fund provider on charges and governance requirements.
